BACKGROUND
KEVIN HOUSTON is the founder of The Basketball Factory organization, owner and founder of Rise as One AAU basketball program and director of The House of Sports training Facility.
His collegiate and professional basketball playing career and his coaching career training elite athletes over the years have both given him the experience and knowledge necessary to lead a successful, elite basketball training program.
The Basketball Factory program is unlike any other in the state. Using the same intense, progressive techniques taught at the collegiate and professional levels, Kevin’s program reaps results, reflected in the consistent success of both RA1 teams and TBF players.
Biography:
As a native of Brooklyn, Kevin developed his skills by playing streetball and competing against some of the best players in the world. His extraordinary work ethic and determination have allowed him to excel at all levels of basketball. Kevin attended the prestigious John Jay High School in Brooklyn which has produced some of New York City’s best players. After earning a spot on the All-City Second Team, Kevin accepted a scholarship to Seward County Community College in Kansas. In 2016 he was inducted into the SCCC Hall of Fame.
After two accomplished years as a Junior College All-American, Kevin considered several scholarships offers before deciding to attend the University of Miami (FL). Kevin played for Miami one season before transferring to Saint Bonaventure University. In 2001, he was named team captain. Kevin finished his senior year by earning NABC/Chevrolet District II Second Team honors as well as earning a spot on the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team.
Following graduation, Kevin took his career overseas, playing a decade of professional basketball in the highest leagues in Europe.
During his overseas career, he was named:
• First-team, All-Import Team in the EuroCup competition
• Leading scorer and MVP of the Belgian League in 2005
• Set a club evaluation record 42 for the French team Strasbourg
• Regular-season champions of the Slovakian League in 2009 and even set a Slovakian single-game playoff record by scoring 55 points
• Leading scorer, Forward of the Year, and Player of the Year for 2010 in Austria
Kevin is also one of only a handful of players to win two MVP awards in two different countries.
In 2011, Kevin retired from playing basketball but found a different way to pursue his passion. Nowadays, you can find Kevin on the court, channeling his dedication and love for the game by developing players as a coach, director, and program coordinator in the Northern New Jersey area.
From individual training, program development, and directing high-level AAU basketball, Kevin has helped over 35 collegiate players, and numerous NBA and European professional players reach their goals.

TESTIMONIAL
“I recruited Kevin when I was at the University of Tulsa and two things that have never changed his work ethic and dedication.”
NORM ROBERTS ASSISTANT COACH UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS
“Kevin has the ability to inspire players in this generation that’s important because they want to achieve the same things Kevin has accomplished and that is to be successful.”
LEONARD HAMILTON HEAD COACH FLORIDA ST UNIVERSITY
“The hard work Kevin put in as a player is the same work ethic that he brings in developing and improving players.”
SCOTT HOWARD CHARLOTTE BOBCATS DIRECTOR OF SCOUTING
“I worked out with Kevin for two year’s and he always went into the gym with a purpose. He was well organized and knew what specific drills he wanted to work on to get us better. It was that attention to detail is the reason why we won a championship our second year.”
MARLON SEARS ASSISTANT COACH COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY
“Kevin was one of the best players I ever coached not because of his physical gifts or talent. His work ethic was second to none. He would spend hours upon hours after practice working on how to get better and that was at the age of 34. Kevin not only helped our team finish at the top of our league. He helped a lot of our young players develop by teaching them how to be a professional.”
Andrea Meghelli Head Coach Vienna Club(Europe)
“There is no better person to teach the youth the game of basketball. His passion to make every player better is the same as when I coached him at St Bonaventure. He is a leader and shows others by example.”
JIM BARON A10 CONFERENCE HALL OF FAME HEAD COACH
“I’ve been through many workouts with a lot of different trainers in the USA and Europe, none compared to Kevin and his staff. The workout was only for an hour and focused on every aspect of basketball.”
IAN HANAVAN HEAD COACH OF PHOENIX BRUSSEL (EUROPE)
“If I was a parent deciding who would my son/daughter learn basketball. I would choose Kevin simply because to find someone with his basketball experience is rare.”
